Sergey Kuzmin: "We are ready to provide investors with the most advantageous conditions"
"We're planning to participate in major Russian and international exhibitions in the field of real estate property, construction, and technologies to attract attention of new investors to Okulovka municipal district," states Sergey Kuzmin, head of the district administration.
Quite recently, the presentation of the Okulovka municipal district of Novgorod Region aroused interest at the Housing Project exhibition-seminar on real estate property, which is traditionally held in St. Petersburg. Ahead is the participation in the InterStroyExpo international construction exhibition in St. Petersburg. However the exposition calendar of the Okulovka district goes beyond this.
Lately, especially in 2015, clear positive dynamics of investment process has emerged in the district. New enterprises are opening here, while the existing ones are modernized. It should be noted that it is in the Okulovka district where products of some well-known brands are manufactured, for example, Splat tooth paste (Organic Pharmaceutical Ltd.), Seven Brooks mineral water (Seven Brooks corporation).
As a result of efforts that the district authorities undertake to provide potential investors with the whole range of territory potential, last year a project on the construction of the Regional Whitewater Center was implemented – a sports facility of the federal scale. It is planned to develop top-class sports here.
Today a number of investment projects are at the stage of planning or preparation for implementation. Including the establishment of a museum dedicated to the family of famous Russian painter Nikolai Rerikh on the base of the ancient depot of Oktyabrskaya railroad (Niсolayevskaya railroad before the Revolution). "This is to be a grand-scale cultural center, an equally significant magnet for tourism as the Regional Whitewater Center," comments Sergey Kuzmin. In the nearest future, at the expense of Russian private capital, a plant for production and assembly of mini and midi buses will be built, as well.
The advantages that investors find in the Okulovka district are the availability of large areas for housing construction, land plots with access to utilities for placing industrial facilities, and engineering capacities with reasonable public utilities tariffs. Due to natural resources, the territory has a rich potential for recreational business. That will be fostered by the creation in the Okulovka district by 2018 of an economic area of tourist & recreation type specified as one of the priorities of the economic development of Novgorod Region. Besides, the concentration of over 50 homesteads in the vicinities of Okulovka will give prospects for developing cultural tourism. All in all, the registry of the investment sites of the Okulovka district includes 30 positions. The list of development directions includes such different areas of activity as agricultural production, road service, housing construction, warehousing and storage of inert materials. The district is also characterized by excellent logistics (due to the developed railroad and highway services). It is expected that logistics will become more qualitative upon ending the construction of M-11 highway portion running through the Okulovka district. "The tasks, the fulfillment of which is assigned today to Oktyabrskaya railroad, probably, objectively exceed its current capability. I think this infrastructure point will affect the further development of our territory. And the construction of M-11 highway is surely not the last investment project of such scale that may be executed in the Okulovka district," Sergey Kuzmin is convinced.
By the way:
The Okulovka district was traditionally developing as an industrial one. Such large enterprises as Okulovka Radio Parts Plant Ltd. (OZRI), Agrocable Plant Ltd., OJSC Uglovsk Lime Plant are located here. However the district has a high potential for the development of agricultural production – unoccupied lands located in the ecologically clean area.
